NERS Information
The National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) is a Welsh Government funded scheme which has been operating since 2007. It is the only National Exercise Referral Scheme in the UK and it aims to standardise exercise referral opportunities across all Local Authorities and Local Health Boards in Wales. NERS is an evidence-based health intervention incorporating physical activity and behavioral change techniques, to support referred clients to make lifestyle changes to improve their health and wellbeing.
NERS is overseen by Public Health Wales and it is delivered locally by the 22 Local Authorities and Leisure Trusts and one Health Board.
